Methods £º In this study, the number of patients with AUD expected to be introduced into local communities were estimated using two methods : The top-down approach which uses previous study findings and available statistics and the bottom-up approach which is based on surveys from personnel working in local medical facilities and centers.

Results £º The estimated service demands among patients expected to return to local communities from medical facilities were as follows : 2,650-2,847 for intensive care management services, 1,260-2,342 for residential treatment services, 1,825-2,092 for addiction rehabilitation services, and 2,260-2,780 for occupational rehabilitation services. The estimated service demands among patients already registered in communities were as follows : 2,269-2,654 for intensive management services, 1,112-1,509 for residential care services, 2,904-3,517 for addiction rehabilitation services, and 1,339-2,530 for occupational rehabilitation services.

Conclusion £º Due to the increased demands, the feature of community addiction management center should be strengthened, and the service pattern modified through the development of a treatment system that strengthens the continuity of treatment in regards to mental health hospitals.
